Custom Multi-Location Fulfilment Solution (Shopify)

We are seeking an experienced Shopify developer to build a custom solution to improve how we manage multi-location inventory for pop-up stores.

The Problem

Our client operates pop-up retail stores globally

Staff use Shopify POS to place orders when an item is not available in-store

Shopify shows total stock availability, but does not clearly show which location the stock is held in at the point of sale

As a result:

Orders are placed without control over fulfilment location

Shopify automatically assigns or splits orders across multiple locations

This creates operational inefficiencies and poor customer experience

What We Need

We require a custom-built solution (private app or backend extension) that:

Displays live inventory by location at the point of order creation

Allows staff to select the fulfilment location BEFORE the order is placed

Prevents Shopify from auto-asg or splitting orders incorrectly

Works within or alongside Shopify POS workflows

Does not rely on draft orders as a workaround

Seamless integration with existing Shopify setup

Reliable and scalable solution suitable for global use

Proven experience with Shopify (apps, APIs, POS extensions)
