Head of Solution Operations

Deadline: 2026-01-24

Description

Vitalthings develops technology that improves lives. Our sensor technology, medically approved services, and expanding AI platform give healthcare professionals insights they would otherwise never have access to. Our solutions are used by world-class research environments and hospitals — and now we are entering a new phase of growth, delivering continuous, data-driven insights, improving patient safety, and enabling smarter clinical decisions across the health ecosystem. As our portfolio grows across cloud services, hardware devices, and partner channels, operational excellence becomes critical. We are now seeking a Head of Solution Operations to ensure our products are designed, launched, and operated with reliability, traceability, and performance at scale. This is a unique opportunity to shape how clinically impactful technology behaves in the real world — from installation to daily operation, from monitoring to end-of-life. Who you are

  • and your mission You see the whole system. You understand how cloud, hardware, connectivity, and deployment processes come together to form a reliable solution. You bring clarity where systems interact and help teams build not only great features — but great operations. As Head of Solution Operations, your mission is to own the operational phase of the product lifecycle. You ensure solutions are designed for safe, scalable operation, that field deployments run smoothly, and that our technology performs reliably long after release. You bridge R&D, Product, Support, and Supply Chain on all operational topics. Your key responsibilities Drive operational excellence across the product lifecycle by defining requirements, ensuring solutions are built for monitoring, updates, diagnostics, and scalable deployment, and leading readiness reviews before launch. Own post-launch and lifecycle operations, including rollout processes, update strategies, device management (MDM), installation traceability, and the back-office tools used to monitor and configure deployed solutions. Ensure reliable performance in the field through telemetry and health monitoring, SLA follow-up, incident handling, and structured operational risk management. Align R&D, Product, Support, and Supply Chain around clear ownership, efficient processes, and continuous improvement based on real-world performance. What we’re looking for Experience from solution operations, IoT operations, SRE/DevOps, or technical program management, with proven experience operating connected devices that combine hardware and cloud services. Proven ability to drive implementation of operational processes end-to-end, working hands-on with multiple teams to turn defined requirements into adopted, measurable, and continuously improved ways of working. Strong system thinking and understanding of how solutions are deployed, updated, monitored, and supported in the field. Clear communicator and structured problem-solver who ensures alignment and follows through on operational details. Nice-to-have: experience with IoT fleets, connectivity (WiFi/4G), telemetry, update pipelines, or industries where reliable device operations are critical. What we offer A chance to define a foundational function in a company entering a high-growth phase with international ambitions Influence over how clinically important technology is deployed and operated in real-world healthcare settings. A strong multidisciplinary environment with deep expertise across hardware, cloud, AI, design, supply chain, and clinical practice Modern offices in Trondheim and flexible work arrangements We improve people’s lives.
