Description
OSM Thome is a leading provider of technical, project and management services to the offshore and maritime industry. It employs approximately 30,000 people of 70+ nationalities. OSM Thome maintains a presence globally in more than 30 locations and has 1000+ vessels/units under management. We are now seeking a Controller to join our dynamic team and play an important role in delivering financial accuracy and strategic insights for our cable-laying fleet. This is a unique opportunity to combine financial expertise with exposure to cutting-edge marine technology and close collaboration with a major industry player, Nexans. Duties and Responsibilities Lead financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for assigned vessels/customers Monitor performance vs. budget, ensuring compliance and identifying improvements Close collaboration with the vessel owner (Nexans) and direct involvement in financial decisions Strong interface with our internal operations team, ensuring financial insights are aligned with operational realities Manage funding requests, collections, and working capital levels Support customers with timely reporting and variance analysis Train and guide vessel accountants, driving process improvements Qualifications and competencies University degree (MSc/BSc) in Economics, Business & Administration, or equivalent 3-5 years of if relevant experience in a global organization Experience in project coordination and financial and accounting processes Analytical and problem-solving skills in relevant IT software systems Knowledge of commercial and business management aspects of technical and engineering projects Knowledge and professional experience in developing and maintaining financial processes Good written and oral English skills Opportunity to travel, particularly during drydock periods, providing hands-on experience with vessel operations Personal Qualities Proactive, result-oriented and highly developed communication and cooperation skills, with cultural awareness Structured, Service-oriented and task-focused Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Responsive with a sense of urgency to ensure on-time delivery We can offer An exciting role with a wide range of responsibilities Exposure to three advanced cable-laying vessels, including a brand-new vessel scheduled for delivery in May 2026 Unique knowledge into vessel complexity and technical processes, adding significant value to your financial and analytical understanding A dynamic environment where finance meets cutting-edge marine technology Opportunities for personal growth and development for the right candidate Competitive terms and attractive benefits A competent and exciting working environment in modern offices by the seaside in Bergen or Arendal A culture built on our core values: Safety, Relationship, Transparency, and Innovation If you are a dedicated professional ready to take on an exciting opportunity in ship management, we would love to hear from you.
