Senior R&D Engineer

Interwell P&A is currently seeking a Senior R&D Engineer. This is a unique opportunity to join a focused development team with high expertise and a multidisciplinary approach. Interwells RockSolid™ is a groundbreaking new technology for the decommissioning of oil and gas wells. An energetic material is delivered via a container to a specified depth in the well, where it is then activated. At a temperature exceeding 3500ºC, it melts the entire cross-section of the well, creating a permanent gas-tight barrier. This technology saves the industry significant resources while reducing environmental emissions. Main Activities & Responsibilities: Responsible for planning and execution of interdisciplinary research and development projects from initial idea to prototype Responsible for product requirement specifications and ensure these are upheld in the R&D of new products Lead risk assessments, FMECAs, design reviews and other key design processes Translate product risks into clear test objectives and acceptance criteria Transfer results and know-how from research to practical use Support design- and operational team through prototype development, field trials and commercialization Perform technical calculations and assessments Maintain and accelerate technology development through planning and performing of tests Communication, support and collaboration with suppliers, operations, and sales departments Technical investigation and reporting Provide professional guidance Govern, promote, and commit to Interwell’s design processes Experience, Qualifications and Skills MSc / MEng in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
