We offer a CAE NVH Design Engineering Analyst assignment in the Vehicle Attributes department, which is a part of Vehicle Engineering in the Engineering organization at Volvo Cars in Gothenburg. The Vehicle Attributes department supports the strategic direction of “For life. Freedom to move in a Personal, Sustainable and Safe way.”. We organize competence in dynamic attributes such as NVH, driving dynamics, energy efficiency, ergonomics and perceived quality. In close collaboration with the design teams, we take responsibility for a great attribute experience for our end users.
What you’ll do
You will be a part of a development team whose purpose is to strengthen the deliverables and development with respect to installation of vibrating components in our future vehicles. Your main responsibility will be to suggest and perform simulations of noise and vibrations of different systems such as propulsion systems, AC-compressors, fans, blowers, pumps, electric motors and many others. You will also work closely with the design departments in order to understand and give input on new concepts and functions from an NVH perspective. You will propose improvements and drive necessary change together with involved design areas.
You will be participating in car program teams where you support in the requirement setting at systems level, communicate analysis results and guide the design work from NVH perspective. Some of your responsibilities will be to lead assignments, of course depending on your experience and knowledge, and participate in the development of improved or new methods and guidelines.
Your Skills
For this position we are looking for a candidate with high competence in vibration isolation, structural dynamics, and applied acoustics. You are competent in finite element simulations and have experience from working with complete vehicle simulations. You need to be comfortable using ANSA, HyperMesh, Nastran, Matlab/Python and MS Office. We see that you have an MSc or PhD in mechanical engineering, technical acoustics, engineering physics or similar.
You have experience from structural dynamics, NVH analyses and installation of vibrating components; so, what else do you have that can contribute to creating the world’s most personal driving experience?
