ILS Engineer

Description

To support the development and delivery of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) activities for systems and products. The role ensures that logistics requirements are identified, planned, and implemented to meet customer expectations and ensure long-term system availability, maintainability, and lifecycle support. The ILS Engineer works closely with engineering, production, and project teams to create and maintain logistics documentation, support analysis, and coordinate support elements.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Perform ILS analysis such as LSA (Logistic Support Analysis), FMEA, and LCC (Life Cycle Cost) assessments.
  • Develop and maintain ILS deliverables including maintenance plans, spare part lists, training material, technical publications, and supportability analyses.
  • Support the configuration and maintenance of logistics data in systems such as PLM or ERP.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure supportability and maintainability are considered early in the design phase.
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure logistic support aligns with contract and operational requirements.
  • Contribute to development and updates of ILS plans in line with project milestones and standards.

Experience Requirements

Required

  • 3–5 years of experience in logistics engineering, ILS, or related technical support functions.
  • Familiarity with ILS standards such as DEF STAN, MIL-STD and ASD S-Series specifications.
  • Experience working in product development or system integration environments.

Preferred

  • Experience from defense, aerospace, or rugged electronics sectors.
  • Knowledge of reliability and maintainability analysis tools (e.g., Windchill, Relex, or similar).

Educational and Professional Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, logistics, or a related field.
  • Good command of Swedish and English (written and spoken).

Preferred

  • Additional certifications or training in ILS, RAMT (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Testability), or defense logistics.
