Job Summary Under the supervision of the Project Director, EpiC Nigeria, the Technical Director, MNCH/N, will be responsible for providing management, technical oversight and strategic direction for integrated maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) and Nutrition service delivery and technical assistance (TA) efforts at both facility and community levels. This includes strengthening implementation quality, ensuring adherence to evidence-based guidelines, and supporting government and partners’ capacity to deliver integrated health services. The Technical Director, MNCH/N will also ensure that program design and implementation reflect global best practices, national guidelines, and donor requirements. Key Responsibilities Provides technical oversight for integrated MNCH and Nutrition service delivery Supports the design and implementation of MNCH and Nutrition activities, at facility and community levels, ensuring technical excellence and consistency with national guidelines. Provides technical guidance to state-level teams to strengthen service delivery models, referral systems, and linkages to care. Contributes to development of workplans, budgets, MEL frameworks, and donor reporting for MNCH and Nutrition activities. Identifies opportunities for innovation, improved efficiency, and enhanced quality of integrated service delivery. Leads development and adaptation of tools, SOPs, guidelines, and job aids for MNCH/N programming. Ensures integration of evidence-based approaches across continuum of care. Strengthens partnerships with government, partners and represents EpiC Nigeria in MNCH/N technical forums, working groups, and donor engagements. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Project Director, EpiC Nigeria Knowledge, Skills and Attributes: Extensive knowledge and technical expertise in Advanced MNCH and Nutrition service delivery in low‑resource settings. Strong relationship management skills with donors, government agencies, and implementing partners. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to translate complex evidence into actionable guidance. Ability to manage multiple streams of work and solve complex challenges independently Applies advanced technical judgment to guide strategy, solve complex implementation challenges, and influence programmatic direction. Directly impacts project performance and FHI 360’s reputation for technical excellence in MNCH/Nutrition service delivery. Sensitivity to cultural differences and a sound understanding of the political, social, and ethical issues surrounding Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) and Nutrition. Proficiency in the use of computers and standard MS Office applications to accurately enter, retrieve, and manage data and information. Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time as required by the role.
