About the job Join a team advising on the deals that are shaping Africa's economic future. We are seeking a sharp, commercially minded lawyer who is ready to lead, not just support. This is not a seat-warming role. You will take ownership of complex, cross-border corporate commercial mandates — managing client relationships directly, leading negotiations at the table, and leading junior associates on your team. Our practice sits at the intersection of Energy, Infrastructure, and emerging sectors across Africa. The work is substantive, the clients are significant, and the progression is real. Why join us Pan-African deal flow - Transactions spanning energy, infrastructure & trade across the continent Direct client access - You own relationships — not just tasks passed down from above Clear path to senior - Performance-driven progression with real mentorship from partners Emerging sectors - Clean energy, ESG, fintech & data shaping tomorrow's practice What you will do Advise on and execute a diverse range of corporate commercial transactions end-to-end Manage client engagement and serve as a trusted point of contact Lead commercial negotiations and drive deal strategy alongside partners Supervise, review work of, and develop junior members of the team Contribute to business development and thought leadership in your practice areas What we are looking for 3–5 years post-call corporate commercial experience Reputable firm background — strong technical foundations matter Core expertise in at least 2 of: Energy (Oil & Gas, Power) or Infrastructure Writing & advocacy — articulate, precise, persuasive Legal research — rigorous and independent MS Office — high proficiency expected
