Job Summary The Head Energy Strategy is responsible for leading the organization’s energy transformation strategy to reduce energy OPEX, diversify fuel sources, and optimize grid connectivity across the telecommunications network, while ensuring uninterrupted network uptime and effective governance of energy projects and stakeholders Job Details Energy Cost Reduction Lead and execute company's strategic initiatives to achieve operational power efficiency and reduce OPEX for each site in PAT portfolio. Identify, evaluate, and deploy innovative energy technologies, operating models, and efficiency programmes that lower cost per site. Energy Transition & Alternate Fuel Strategy Execute the transition from diesel-reliant operations to alternate renewable energy solutions Implement and operate the energy storage solutions to improve power generation efficiency and reduce unit power cost Ensure operational readiness, safety compliance, and performance stability during energy transitions. Ensure the OPEX are within defined target in the deployed solution sites by effective monitoring the site parameters. Grid Transition and Optimization Lead programmes to transition suitable sites from off-grid to on-grid operations. Assess grid feasibility and take actions to complete the strategic sites on Grid to improve power availability and reduce energy cost. Manage grid-related risks, including grid disconnections and ensure technical and regulatory compliance Stakeholder & Vendor Governance Act as the senior focal point for all internal and external energy stakeholders, including Operations, Finance, ESG, Procurement, utility providers, and energy vendors. Govern vendor performance, contracts, and SLAs to ensure cost efficiency, scalability, reliability, and compliance. Drive alignment across stakeholders to ensure timely execution and value realization. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Energy Systems, or related field 8–12 years’ experience in energy, power, or infrastructure operations (telecoms/utilities preferred) Professional certification (e.g., COREN) and/or energy/project management certifications Proven leadership experience managing large-scale, multi-site operations Strong expertise in grid systems, diesel management, and hybrid energy solutions Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance cost, efficiency, and reliability Experience engaging with utilities, regulators, and ESG/sustainability framework Good understanding of grid-connected power systems and energy resilience models. Strong financial and commercial acumen in managing energy costs on a scale. Ability to balance technical reliability with commercial efficiency. Strong strategic and outcome-driven leadership style. Good` communication and stakeholder management skills. High level of accountability, risk awareness, and operational discipline. Ability to operate effectively in a 24/7 infrastructure environments.
