Job Summary The Fire Chief provides strategic leadership in safeguarding personnel, high-value assets, and the environment through the design and execution of a world-class emergency response framework and a culture of proactive fire prevention. Key Duties and Responsibilities Operational Leadership: Directing fire suppression, hazardous material mitigation, rescue operations, and driving culture change. Command & Control: Acting as the highest authority at emergency scenes to ensure firefighters and public safety. External Coordination for Emergency Planning: Coordinate with external agencies (e.g., Lagos State Fire Service, Federal Fire Service or neighbouring industrial plants) for mutual aid. Administration & Budgeting: Managing sectional budgets, purchasing equipment, and ensuring all apparatus is in working order. Personnel Management: Recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating staff and volunteers. Compliance & Policy: Developing policies in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. Investigation & Reporting: Conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) , maintaining incident records, and reporting to government officials. Community Education: Implementing the company's fire safety education programs. Emergency Response Plan (ERP) Development and conducting regular Emergency Response Drills and Tabletop exercises. Undertake a Data Protection Impact Assessment as applicable to curb the risk during data processing operations. Education and Work Experience Candidate must possess a B.Sc. or HND in Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, along with a valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate. Minimum of five (5) years post-qualification experience. Rescue and Firefighting Certificates NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Process Safety Management or NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety, preferably. Proficient in first aid and CPR Techniques. Experience in high-hazard industrial environments,s such as Power Plants or an Oil & Gas environment. Key Duties and Responsibilities Working knowledge National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standards. Proficiency in Incident Command System (ICS) protocols. Ability to effectively operate a variety of fire and emergency response equipment, as well as a deep knowledge of Fixed Fire Protection Systems (sprinklers, FM-200, hydrants) and Fire Apparatus (trucks/pumps) Ability to multitask XXXX XXXX and oral communication skills High degree of discretion in dealing with confidential information Familiarity with Microsoft Office
