Responsibilities Bank Reconciliation: Daily Transactions: Review and record daily bank transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and journal entries. Reconciliation: Perform bank reconciliations, including matching bank charges and interest with internal records. Compliance: Ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal control policies. Preparing the documents required to request bank credit, following up on the credit activation after issuance and reviewing its balances (for letters of credit & letters of guarantee/ loans). Following-up long-term loan balances, debit interest, loan repayment installments, bank account reconciliations, and preparation of journal accounting entries for loans and accrued interest. Following up, controlling and reviewing bank charges and commissions and their conformity with the contracts concluded, analysis them and reporting to the direct manager review the bank charges and commissions that are deducted from the company's current account and must review their value according to the contract with the bank Initiate and Register e-Form M: Complete and register electronic Form M on the Nigeria Single Window Trade Portal for all importations Revalue open accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) in foreign currencies at month-end. Calculate and record unrealized exchange gains or losses in the General Ledger. Tax: Monthly provisions for minimum tax and additional PAYE Monthly compliance on VAT, WHT, PAYE, Pension, NSITF and Union and coop deductions ensure correct deductions and calculations have been inputted into the system. Review all calculations, prepare schedule for payment and payment instruction where applicable, file monthly returns on FIRS portal and get evidence of payment from bank, provide schedules of pension deduction to all PFAs. Manage audits for different state parastatals ITF, OYIRS, different arms of FIRS, LIRS, NSITF, NEPC etc. Respond to various official tax notices requesting information or providing clarifications. Liase with tax consultants and government officials on various issues on certificate on QCE, export, grant, Transfer pricing etc. Obtain employees’ annual TCC. Negotiation of fees with external consultants on all issues not limited to tax and audits. Ensure closures of all pending audits, make payment of any additional liabilities. Any other responsibility that may be assigned by the assigned supervisor or may come up during the month or year. Competence & Skills Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and must be a member of an accounting professional Institute. General Accounting knowledge. Analytical Background on VAT, WHT, PAYE, Pension, NSITF and CIT Strong technical skills to analyze business transactions and tax consequences. Must possess an in-depth understanding of complex tax laws. Stay up to date with new and changing tax policies. Accounting including IFRS, SAP and Local GAAP. Alignment skill. Fin
