The Technical Operator

• Screen Printer is responsible for operating, maintaining, and optimizing screen printing machines used in plastic manufacturing. The role ensures high-quality printing on plastic products while maintaining efficiency, minimizing waste, and adhering to safety and quality standards. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Machine Operation Set up and operate screen printing machines for plastic products. Prepare screens, inks, and substrates according to production specifications. Adjust machine settings (speed, pressure, alignment) to achieve desired print quality. Quality Control Inspect printed materials to ensure color accuracy, alignment, and consistency. Identify and correct printing defects such as smudging, misalignment, or fading. Ensure finished products meet company and client quality standards. Maintenance & Troubleshooting Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of printing equipment. Diagnose and resolve minor mechanical or printing issues. Report major faults to maintenance team promptly. Production Efficiency ​​​​​​​ Monitor production output and minimize material wastage. Ensure timely completion of assigned production targets. Maintain proper documentation of production activities. Health, Safety & Compliance ​​​​​​​ Adhere to occupational health and safety standards in the production area. Proper handling and storage of inks, chemicals, and materials. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Team Collaboration Work closely with design and production teams to ensure accurate print execution. Follow instructions from supervisors and support continuous improvement initiatives. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE: Certificate or Diploma in Printing Technology, Graphic Design, or a related technical field from a recognized vocational training institution. At least 1–3 years’ experience in screen printing, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience in printing on plastic materials is an added advantage.
