Description
Job purpose Duties and responsibilities Provide comprehensive and good quality clinical services to patients through taking history, examining, diagnosing, ordering laboratory and imaging investigations as appropriate; Interpreting the history and physciacl exam findings as well as the laboratory and imaging results to make a diagnosis and instituting treatment plan for the common ailments at an outpatient or inpatient setting. Prompt communication and escalation of medical cases that need senior review to the medical officer (or a specialist) as may be the case. Performing care related documentations necessary including discharge summaries, medical reports and certificates in consultation with the medical officer in-charge and/or medical specialists. Guiding and counseling patients and relatives on health issues; sensitizing patients and clients on preventive and promotive health. Preparing and presenting medico-legal reports and/or mortality and morbidity reports as may be requested. Any other role as may be assigned. Qualifications Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or a Bachelor Degree in Clinical Medicine from a recognized institution Must be a Registered Officer with the Clinical Officer Council. Must possess current Valid Practice License. Must possess current Basic life support and Advanced Cardiac life support certification license. Must possess Proficiency in computer applications. At least two years of working experience as a Clinical Officer in a busy hospital. Skills Organizational skills Communication skills Observation skills
