Description
Roles and Responsibilities Forklift & Equipment Operations Safely operate forklifts and related material-handling equipment to load, unload, move, stack, and retrieve goods within the warehouse, production, and yard areas. Handle various types of loads while ensuring stability and proper positioning. Observe forklift operating limits, including load capacity, height restrictions, and speed limits. Park and secure forklifts in designated areas when not in use. Receiving, Dispatch & Internal Movements Support offloading of inbound deliveries, ensuring goods are handled carefully to prevent damage. Assist in loading outbound trucks, ensuring correct quantities, proper stacking, and load security. Execute internal stock transfers between warehouse zones, production areas, and storage locations as instructed. Ensure materials are placed in correct bin locations in line with the warehouse layout and operational instructions. Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Compliance Strictly adhere to company safety policies, SOPs, and site traffic rules at all times. Conduct daily pre- and post-operation equipment inspections, including brakes, forks, mast, hydraulics, tires, horn, and lights Promptly report any equipment defects, unsafe conditions, near-misses, accidents, or damages to the supervisor. Maintain safe distances from colleagues and equipment, following right-of-way rules. Equipment Care & Maintenance Support Keep forklifts clean, fueled/charged, and in good working condition. Identify early signs of mechanical issues and escalate promptly to reduce downtime. Work with the maintenance team to ensure timely servicing and repairs of equipment Documentation & Reporting Accurately maintain forklift logs, checklists, and movement records. Handle delivery notes, dispatch documents, and internal movement forms correctly. Keep records organized to support traceability and compliance. Teamwork & Operational Support Collaborate with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to achieve daily operational targets. Work flexibly with supervisors to meet changing operational needs Qualification and Skills Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent; additional training in logistics, warehousing, or occupational safety is an advantage. Minimum 3 years’ experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, production, or logistics environment. Valid Forklift Operator License/Certificate from a recognized training institution. Experience handling various load types, including palletized, bulk, fragile, or oversized items. Familiarity with warehouse layouts, material flow, and storage procedures; ERP/WMS experience is a plus. Strong understanding of forklift safety, load handling, and site traffic rules. Ability to conduct and document daily equipment inspections. Commitment to safety standards and ability to follow SOPs rigorously.
