Senior Network Engineer | Contract
Description
Key Responsibilities Network Administration Perform network administration in a heterogeneous environment (production, DR, and test), comprising network and security equipment as well as telecommunication links. Perform hardening, upgrades, and enhancements on IT infrastructure components. Monitor, assess, schedule, and implement network and product-specific security vulnerability patches. Monitor obsolescence of IT infrastructure components (network systems). Monitor expiry and perform renewal of network system passwords and certificates. Implement network backup operations to ensure data recoverability and business continuity. Execute disaster recovery plans for IT infrastructure (network systems), and conduct regular disaster recovery (DR) testing and component switchover exercises to ensure usability of standby and DR equipment. Provide 24x7 operational support, as required. Project Management and Support Provide system and network support for projects in accordance with project timelines. Manage infrastructure enhancement initiatives and projects in accordance with established project management guidelines. Incident and Problem Management Provide second-level network support and resolve incidents and problems in accordance with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Perform problem diagnosis on incidents and propose and implement measures to prevent recurrence. Change and Release Management Schedule and release network system changes to the production environment in accordance with change management processes and procedures. Present and articulate change requests at Change Advisory Board (CAB) or Change Advisory Management Committee (CAMC) meetings. Configuration Management Develop and maintain a comprehensive configuration database or library of operating systems, hardware, and software for all IT infrastructure components used in the production environment. Capacity and Performance Management Perform infrastructure system and network capacity monitoring and planning. Monitor and perform performance tuning to optimise network performance. Process Management Implement underlying processes supporting IT service management in conformance with corporate security policies and guidelines. Documentation Develop and maintain technical and process documentation to support and sustain IT infrastructure operations. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. At least 5 years of hands-on experience in managing network and security equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, DNS, and NAC in financial institutions or mission-critical environments. Proven hands-on network engineering experience. Analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills with a customer-oriented mindset.
