Backend Developer (Database & API Specialist)

Job Description Our client is seeking a Backend Developer with strong database and API development expertise to support enterprise systems. This role focuses on backend development, database optimisation, and API design to enable scalable and reliable system integration. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality backend solutions and ensure system performance and stability. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java or C# Develop and implement RESTful APIs to support system integration and business requirements Analyse, optimise, and maintain SQL queries and Sybase stored procedures Support database performance tuning and ensure efficient data processing Collaborate with frontend developers and other stakeholders on API integration Troubleshoot and resolve backend and database-related issues Participate in change implementation following established processes Prepare and maintain technical documentation Job Requirements Minimum 3 years of experience in backend development Strong proficiency in Java or C# Solid experience in SQL and database development Hands-on experience with Sybase stored procedures, including analysis and optimisation Experience in deg and developing RESTful APIs Good understanding of system integration and backend architecture Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Preferred Skills Experience working in enterprise or legacy system environments Exposure to performance tuning and high-volume data processing systems Familiarity with structured development and release processes Additional Information This is a 1-year contract position, subject to business needs and performance Role focuses on backend development, database optimisation, and API integration All information will be kept strictly confidential.
