Job purpose: The 18-month Graduate Trainee programme is designed for recent graduates to gain broad experience in the CC Lending Asia Team in Singapore. The graduate trainee will support members of the Lending team in Asia in originating, structuring, and executing relevant business within the framework of the bank’s strategy. The role requires the graduate trainee to closely cooperate and align their activities not only with the Lending team, but also with other departments and segments of the bank. In pursuing the targets and tasks set, the graduate trainee must adhere to the strategic goals as well as the business and risk policies of Lending and Corporate Clients while strictly following Commerzbank’s Code of Conduct. CC Lending in the Asia-Pacific region (Singapore and Tokyo) comprises the following 5 key business areas: Asset Finance CoC Green Infrastructure (CoC GIF) Corporate Lending Structured Export & Trade Finance (SETF) Transaction Management Asset Finance is responsible for originating and structuring bespoke solutions for Commerzbank’s clients’ capital expenditures and working capital funding needs. Product offerings include Aviation Finance, Supply Chain and Inventory Financing, Securitization, Leasing and other types of structured finance transactions. (Note: JOLCO aircraft financing is one of the key focus areas of Commerzbank Tokyo) CoC GIF covers renewable energy financing in Asia with specific focus on Onshore/Offshore Wind, Solar, as well as other green infrastructure assets. Corporate Lending supports 1) steering new business 2) managing the loan book; 3) assessing risk and implementing hedging and distribution measures as necessary. SETF comprises of Export Credit and Structured Trade Finance products. Transaction Management works closely with the deal origination team to manage the transaction execution and perform the post-execution monitoring of the portfolio to maturity. Upon successful completion of the programme, the graduate trainee will be considered for permanent employment opportunities, subject to overall strong performance during traineeship and business conditions. Key activities: To support in the analysis and evaluation of new corporate lending transactions for assigned portfolio to determine appropriate pricing, distribution potential, and submission to the appropriate approval body. To assist the team in conducting transaction-related due diligence, risk and sector analysis, and support in preparing relevant parts of the NTA and ISC processes To help source market intelligence, market data, credentials To prepare client pitches and internal group presentations To assist in reviewing legal documentation To support in preparation of internal reporting e.g. pipeline reports, reporting for committees and to management To provide administrative support (e.g. expense management, scheduling of meetings), transaction and client monitoring (e.g. client outreach and portfolio assessment) Formal education: Recent g
