Youth Support (12 - Month Contract |SGD 2600 - SGD 3100) - JO 28396

Key Highlights: Office Hours: Monday - Friday (May require working on 1 weekend up to twice a month. Weekday off will be compensated accordingly) Nearest MRT: Kovan Station Support youths with special needs by assisting in their daily routines, engaging in activities, and contributing to their development. Key Responsibilities: Provide Structured Support: Shadow youths with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and low-functioning residents, assisting with personal care and daily routines. Implement visual schedules, routines, and manage sensory sensitivities. Engage in Activities: Lead and adapt recreational and enrichment activities, promoting social skills and physical activities tailored to individual needs. Use sensory-appropriate methods and visual supports to aid understanding. Community Support: Accompany youths during community activities, ensuring smooth transitions, managing potential triggers, and teaching social behaviours and coping strategies. Rehabilitation Support: Contribute to Individual Care Plans (ICPs), collaborate with specialists, document observations, and implement behaviour management strategies to support skill development. Specialised Support: Implement therapeutic techniques, use appropriate communication methods (e.g., PECS, visual aids), and assist in crisis prevention, de-escalation, and sensory regulation. Key Requirements: Holder of Diploma/Degree Experience in managing youths with special needs is advantageous. Familiarity with behavioural management techniques and strategies. Knowledgeable about developmental disabilities and effective interventions. Strong observation and documentation skills, knowledge of behavioural management strategies, and the ability to maintain calm in challenging situations. Only shortlisted candidates are notified.
