Hadoop Administrator (Cloudera)

Key Responsibilities Monitor Hadoop cluster performance and ensure high availability of services Manage incident handling and perform vendor log collection for Cloudera components Execute application start/stop and configuration requests as per operational needs Collaborate with OS, Storage, Network, and Compute teams for cross-platform support Assist in job failure analysis, queue management, and resource allocation Perform patching, minor upgrades, and support NiFi template migrations Contribute to backup and recovery operations for critical datasets Manage user access and security configurations (Kerberos, Ranger, LDAP) Support Cloudera minor version upgrades and hotfix deployments under supervision Participate in DR drills and ensure synchronisation between production and DR environments Monitor platform health using tools like Cloudera Manager, Grafana, and ELK Job Requirements: 3+ years of experience in the Hadoop ecosystem: HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark, Oozie Basic working knowledge of Cloudera Manager and its administrative tools Strong proficiency in Linux administration and shell scripting Familiarity with Kerberos authentication, Ranger security, and user access management Understanding of patch management and platform upgrade processes Good troubleshooting, log analysis, and communication skills Exposure to Python or Ansible for automation Experience with CI/CD-based cluster operations Familiarity with AWS or Azure-based Hadoop deployments
