Job Description: ITI invites applications for a Kunqu teacher for a 5-week period. The module to be taught is Immersions in Theatre Traditions (Kunqu), in ITI’s Professional Diploma in Intercultural Theatre (Acting) programme. The job will require you to: Teach the fundamentals of Kunqu, including its vocal techniques, movement vocabulary, stylised gesture, and performance conventions, and how these can be applied to contemporary acting practices. You will create a presentation by the students at the end of the teaching period Guide students in integrating singing, speech, and physical expression characteristic of Kunqu into their acting work. Assess the students according to ITI’s assessment and evaluation approach, comprising continual and semester-end assessments; this includes providing written evaluation reports Job requirements: Trained in the tradition of Chinese opera, with specialisation in Kunqu • Minimum 10 years of teaching/practice experience in Kunqu • Ability to take a holistic approach in relation to the overall curriculum • A well-recognised level of quality and distinction in your practice
