Build the foundation, not just maintain programmes We are hiring a Lead, Talent Development to take ownership of a critical standalone function and strengthen Talent Development capability across the organisation. This is a 2-year contract role, subject to renewal. This is not a broad HR generalist role. This is not a training coordinator role. This is not a role for someone who prefers to inherit a mature setup. This role is suited to someone who is comfortable operating as a standalone individual contributor , enjoys building from a low-structure starting point, and has the maturity to design, implement, and strengthen Talent Development foundations in a structured and governance-heavy environment. You will be expected to work hands-on, build credibility quickly, and move practical work forward without excessive support or over-engineering. What you will be doing You will take the lead on foundational Talent Development work across the organisation, including: shaping and strengthening Talent Development frameworks and processes identifying capability needs and translating them into practical development plans deg and driving core learning and development initiatives partnering stakeholders across the organisation to improve development effectiveness supporting a more structured and consistent approach to capability-building contributing to system, process, and policy alignment where relevant helping stabilise and strengthen the Talent Development function before broader optimisation What we are looking for You should bring: at least 6 years of relevant Talent Development / Learning & Development experience stronger consideration if you are in the 8 to 10 year range proven ability to design and build , not just coordinate or administer experience working in medium-sized or larger organisations , or similarly complex environments comfort working as a hands-on standalone contributor ability to operate well in environments where structure is still being strengthened a pragmatic, grounded approach with good judgment and low ego confidence engaging stakeholders and moving work forward in a structured environment This role is likely to suit you if you have personally built or strengthened Talent Development frameworks, programmes, or processes are comfortable laying foundations before moving into optimisation or transformation can work with ambiguity without needing constant direction are practical and delivery-focused, not overly theoretical are motivated by building something useful and durable This role is less likely to suit you if you are mainly from HR Operations , HRBP , or training coordination backgrounds have been focused more on support, scheduling, or administration than design ownership prefer highly resourced teams or inherited structures are looking primarily for a strategic transformation role without hands-on groundwork are likely to be frustrated by a stabilisation-heavy build phase Why consider this opportunity This is an opp
