Job Description: Programme Support Assistant (Children & Families) — THRIVE & Club Explore Reporting to: Social Work Associate (Children & Families) / Departmental Head Role level: Junior / Entry-level (no social work credential required) Role Purpose Woodlands Social Centre (WSC) is hiring a Programme Support Assistant to support our children and family programmes — THRIVE and Club Explore . You’ll work alongside our Social Work Associate who leads the programme, helping to ensure sessions and events run smoothly through strong administration, logistics, and on-the-ground support. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, dependable, and enjoys working with primary school children and pre-teens . Key Responsibilities
- Programme Operations & Session Support Support weekly/fortnightly sessions for THRIVE and Club Explore (setup, materials, attendance, pack-down) Assist with basic group management and child engagement during activities (under programme lead’s guidance) Prepare resources, printouts, and activity materials before sessions
- Administration & Coordination Maintain accurate programme records (attendance, enrolment lists, consent forms, simple tracking sheets) Support communication tasks (sending reminders/updates to parents, coordinating replies, basic logistics follow-ups) Help with scheduling, confirmations, and documentation for programme needs
- Events & Logistics Support planning and execution of programme events/outings (venue, materials, refreshments/meals, transport coordination) Assist with inventory and supplies management (stock checks, replenishment, storage organisation) Liaise with vendors/partners for operational matters (e.g., deliveries, booking confirmations) as assigned
- Volunteer Support (when applicable) Assist with volunteer coordination on programme days (sign-in, task allocation, basic guidance) Help ensure a smooth volunteer experience through clear instructions and on-site support Requirements (What we’re looking for) No social work qualification required Strong interest in working with primary school children and pre-teens Strong administration and coordination skills; comfortable with spreadsheets and routine documentation Reliable, organised, and able to follow through on tasks independently Good communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude Experience in admin, childcare, student care, education support, events, or social service settings is an advantage Other Notes Role involves hands-on operations; may include occasional evenings/weekends depending on programme schedules Training and on-the-job guidance will be provided
