Test Automation Engineer

KUBO is looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer to join a project focused on a large-scale data and analytics platform. This role combines test automation with strong software and data engineering practices. You will work on ensuring reliability, correctness, and performance of complex data pipelines and services operating at scale.

We are seeking someone who writes production-ready code, understands modern data platforms, and is passionate about building robust automated quality solutions.

Key responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain reusable test frameworks supporting data pipelines, APIs, and user interfaces Implement automated validation for large datasets, including schema checks, data consistency, statistical validation, and anomaly detection Embed automated tests into CI/CD workflows to support deployment gating, regression testing, and contract verification Create and manage synthetic test data, mocks, stubs, and environment-aware test setups Plan and execute performance, load, and scalability tests for distributed data processing jobs Work closely with data engineers, DevOps, and product teams to define quality standards, acceptance criteria, and release readiness Participate in technical reviews with a focus on testability, risk, and quality Monitor and report test execution metrics, maintain dashboards, and support defect triage Prepare and maintain test documentation, operational guides, and troubleshooting materials

Ideal candidate profile 5+ years of experience in software development or test automation engineering Solid understanding of data engineering and modern data platform concepts (e.g. data lakes, ACID tables, schema evolution, CDC, partitioning) Proven experience building automated test frameworks and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala Hands-on experience testing data pipelines or big-data processing systems (batch or streaming) Knowledge of API testing (REST or gRPC) and UI automation tools Experience with test data generation, mocking techniques, and containerized test environments Strong analytical thinking, debugging skills, and ability to collaborate across teams Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
