About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to architect and deliver scalable backend systems and customer facing services that support our continued growth. This role blends deep technical execution with architectural leadership across distributed systems.
You will help evolve our software management platform, influence key backend design decisions, establish scalable service patterns and raise engineering standards across the team. As a senior technical leader, you will mentor peers, elevate system design thinking and contribute to the long term evolution of our backend architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Drive architectural direction for backend services and distributed systems
- Lead cross functional initiatives that reduce technical debt and improve long term maintainability
- Design and implement scalable microservices and RESTful APIs
- Own complex backend features from design through production support
- Translate product requirements into thoughtful system designs and clear implementation plans
- Improve performance, reliability and observability across services
- Apply secure development practices to protect customer and internal data
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions and technical guidance
- Evaluate emerging technologies through proof of concept experimentation
Required Skills:
- 8+ years of professional experience building software with C# and the.NET ecosystem
- Deep experience building and operating ASP.NET Core microservices in production
- Self-directed senior engineer who takes ownership of complex technical challenges, drives resolution across teams, and consistently delivers outcomes not just updates.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI coding assistants as a productivity multiplier while maintaining strong code ownership, critical review and debugging discipline
- Strong experience deg scalable and secure RESTful APIs
- Hands on experience with MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases including data modeling and performance optimization
- Experience deg distributed systems with reliability, scalability and fault tolerance in mind
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes including containerization strategy and CI CD integration
- Strong knowledge of secure development practices including authentication, encryption and data protection
- Deep understanding of object oriented principles and design patterns
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with device management platforms such as Microsoft Configuration Manager or Intune
- Familiarity with additional languages such as React, Golang, JavaScript, C++ or PowerShell
- Experience building or maintaining enterprise desktop applications using WPF or similar frameworks
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures
- Experience building cross-platform applications or services
Compensation:
- Competitive Base Salary: $150,000 - $170,000 based on experience and location.

What to Expect in the Interview Process
Our interview process is designed to help us understand how you think, build software, and collaborate with others. It also gives you an opportunity to learn more about our team, the problems we are solving and what it is like to work at Patch My PC.

Step 1: Technical Assessment Candidates begin with an online coding assessment focused on problem solving and core programming concepts. This helps us understand your approach to writing clean, efficient code and working through technical challenges.
Step 2: Initial Screen A 20-30 minute conversation with our Talent team to learn more about your background, experience and career goals. We will also share more about Patch My PC, our culture and how our values guide the way we work.
Step 3: Hiring Manager InterviewA conversation with the hiring manager to discuss your technical experience, previous projects and how you approach building and supporting production systems. This discussion also provides an opportunity to learn more about the team, current priorities and expectations for the role.
Step 4: Technical Interview A live technical interview with members of our engineering team. This session focuses on software engineering fundamentals such as coding, system design, debugging and how you approach real world engineering problems. You may be asked to walk through your thinking while solving a problem collaboratively.
Step 5: Team and Leadership Conversations The next stage includes conversations with engineering leaders and cross functional team members. In addition to discussing technical experience we focus on collaboration, communication and how you contribute to a team environment grounded in humility, ownership, empathy, and delivering excellence.
Step 6: Final Conversation with Our CEO As a final step candidates may meet with our CEO and Founder Justin Chalfant. This conversation focuses on our mission, culture, and values and gives you the opportunity to ask XXXX XXXX the company vision and the impact our team is working to create.
