Job Title: Cable engineer Location: London(Greater London) Salary/Rate: 31-37k per anum Start Date: 23/03/2026 Job Type: Perm
Job Responsibilities/Objectives We are looking for an experienced Cable Engineer to support fibre installation projects, working as part of a team delivering PIA installation works across overhead and underground networks.
- Deliver PIA installation works as part of a team
- Carry out rodding and roping, fibre blowing, and heavy cable pulling
- Install fibre optic cables (overhead and underground) on FTTH networks
- Work with UTP, fibre, and CATV cabling
- Ensure compliance with Safety at Street Works and Road Works regulations
- Set up and manage site operations in line with NRSWA requirements
- Supervise traffic management where required
- Understand and follow permit and noticing requirements
- Read schematics and produce as-built drawings
Required Skills/Experience The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Background in civil works
- Proven track record installing cabling in Openreach ducts and infrastructure (overhead and underground)
- BT PIA Accreditation's: S0001, S0002, S7, S8
- NRSWA Units 1 & 2
- Clean UK driving licence
- Confined Space certification
- K08
- IPAF 1b
- SA051C
