DevSecOps Platform Engineer; Active SC, Defence, DevSecOps, Kubernetes, Gitlab, CI/CD
Primary work: Bristol, Travel required to: Andover & Romsey (2 days work from Office)
Duration: 12 months, Rate: £450 Per/day Outside IR35, Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance required
We're looking for an experienced DevSecOps Platform Engineer/Software Factory Lead to own, build and operate the entire platform from CI/CD and Kubernetes to security, governance and continuous improvement.
This is a hands-on senior role with real ownership. You will be the technical backbone of the organisation's software delivery engine.
Essential
Strong experience in DevSecOps/Platform Engineering
Deep hands-on expertise with GitLab, CI/CD pipelines
Strong Kubernetes experience (OpenShift ideal)
Proven experience with:
Infrastructure automation
Secure software delivery
Platform governance & compliance
Monitoring & observability tooling
Comfortable operating in secure/regulated environments
Desirable
- Defence or government programme experience
- Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/private cloud)
- Security tooling integration (SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, etc.)
- Experience shaping platform roadmaps and innovation programmes
