SENIOR OFFICE SECRETARY – Okavango District Council

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Botswana Citizens for the above mentioned position tenable in Okavango District Council. Only those applicants prepared to work in the District should apply.
To provide secretarial and office management services to Deputy Directors/Deputy Heads of Departments/ or serve as Supervisor of a pool of Office Secretaries in a Division/ Unit/Section/ Station within a Ministry / Extra Ministerial Department. Key Responsibilities Types letters, Savingrams, reports and minutes within set standards. Manages the office diary. Edits own typed work for accuracy. Formats documents for proper layout. Maintains register for customer requests. Retrieves and processes data to produce required information and reports. Maintains float file for reference purpose. Supervises junior staff assigned to divisions/ units/sections/stations within Council. Provide guidance to supervisees to maintain standards of good conduct. Manages performance of supervisees. Makes travel arrangements for the officer served. Requests for refreshments and stationery for the officer served. Prepares middle management meetings and produces minutes of the same. Attends to customer requests. Receives, screens, and directs clients to relevant offices. Undertakes any other related duties as directed by management. Requirements Qualification: National Diploma/ Higher National Diploma in Secretarial Studies (NDSS/HNDSS/ Diploma in Business Skills or Bachelor of Office Management (BOM)/ Bachelor of Office Management Technology (BOMT) or equivalent. Experience: At least two (2) years' experience in the field of secretarial services which should have been served as Office Secretary level or equivalent. Working with People Presenting and Communicating Information Writing and Reporting Planning and Organizing Delivering Results and Meeting Customer Expectations Following Instructions and Procedures Salary C2 (P156, 336 - P185, 868) per annum How to Apply Applicants should quote the vacancy circular number and provide the following details:
