Sandire Motheo is seeking to appoint a PROCESS MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT (REF:279) - TENABLE IN GHANZI. The Process Maintenance Superintendent ensures the execution of integrated maintenance strategies that support production targets, extend equipment life, and align with business objectives. The Process Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and technical expertise across all maintenance disciplines to ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of the Copper Process Plant and associated infrastructure. This role oversees the Mechanical, Electrical/Instrumentation Superintendents, as well as the Planning, Dewatering, HDPE welding, Infrastructure Maintenance, and Condition Monitoring teams. The Process Maintenance Superintendent ensures the execution of integrated maintenance strategies that support production targets, extend equipment life, and align with business objectives. The position demands a high level of technical proficiency, strong leadership, and the ability to drive operational excellence across multiple functional areas. Key Responsibilities Lead and promote a strong safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations and the Mines, Quarries, Works and Machinery Act. Enforce adherence to OHSE procedures, risk assessments, Safe Work Procedures (SWPs), and critical control verifications. Champion proactive risk management and continuous improvement in safety performance across all maintenance teams. Drive compliance with environmental standards, achieving zero reportable incidents through effective planning and control of maintenance activities. Provide strategic leadership and daily oversight to the Mechanical and Electrical/Instrumentation, as well as Planning, Dewatering, HDPE welding, and Infrastructure teams. Build a high-performance maintenance organization focused on safety, accountability, reliability, and teamwork. Conduct regular performance reviews, identify skills gaps, and implement training and succession plans to develop internal capability. Promote cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure alignment of maintenance priorities. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in maintenance practices and equipment reliability. Develop and implement short-, medium-, and long-term maintenance strategies for plant and mobile equipment reliability. Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs through the site CMMS (Pronto or SAP). Ensure effective coordination between maintenance planning and execution teams to meet operational targets. Lead shutdown preparation and execution, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality work completion. Direct root cause analysis and reliability reviews of recurring failures to implement permanent solutions.
