Applications are invited from qualified Botswana citizens for the position of Group Senior Data and AI Specialist tenable at Gaborone.
Purpose Of The Job: As a cornerstone of FSG's 2025-2028 Digital Transformation Strategy, this role exists to orchestrate and industrialise Data & AI as the primary engine for achieving FSG Strategic objectives. The incumbent will transform FSG's data from a fragmented asset into a unified, strategic capability that directly enables new revenue streams (microinsurance, digital products), operational excellence (automation, predictive analytics), and enhanced brand value. This role is accountable for building the "Intelligent Core" - a data-driven organisation powered by AI - ensuring FSG captures its first-mover advantage in the region. Key Responsibilities Own and execute the Data & Analytics Enablement pillar of the digital strategy. Develop and govern the 3-year Data & AI roadmap, ensuring alignment with the internal developed Models and key objectives. Establish the "Single Source of Truth": Architect, build, and govern the central data warehouse/Lakehouse integrating Policy Administration Systems, ERP, Fleet Management Applications, and other applications data to eliminate silos and enable unified decision-making. Drive Data Monetisation: Partner with business units to identify and quantify high-impact use cases where data and AI can create new revenue (e.g., predictive policy upsell, microinsurance targeting) or protect revenue (e.g., lapse prediction, fraud detection). Lead the development and deployment of production-grade AI/ML models that deliver measurable business outcomes, directly contributing to strategic pillars. Operational Efficiency: Build predictive models for claims adjudication, develop automation bots (e.g., premium-to-bank reconciliation), and implement IoT data analytics for fleet management. Customer Experience: Enhance the current FSG chatbot with AI, develop personalisation engines for the unified customer portal, and create USSD-based analytics for low-income segments. New Business Models: Explore and pilot innovative applications (e.g., blockchain for policy integrity, GenAI for service personalisation) as outlined in the innovation pillar. Establish and run the MLOps/ModelOps lifecycle from experimentation to deployment, monitoring, and governance, ensuring models remain accurate, ethical, and compliant. Requirements Insight Generation & Cultural Transformation: Transition FSG to a data-driven decision-making culture. Design and implement real-time executive dashboards and self-service analytics platforms that provide actionable insights into premium, claims, funeral data, and customer feedback.
