The positions are based at the Mine Site located between Maun and Sehithwa in Ngamiland. To be successful, you must enjoy getting out on site and have the enthusiasm, and interest to work in a remote location, as well as deliver in a multicultural work environment. Fire Prevention and Emergency Officer - MMG / Khoemamacau Copper Mining Job no: 503131 Work type: Permanent Full Time Location: Khoemacau Mine Key Responsibilities Establishing and leading the utilisation of fire and emergency management systems and producing improvement reports showing trends on key KCM fire performance objectives such as maintenance, readiness inspections, training, fire risk needs analysis, simulation schedules, periodical functionality tests of key equipment, legal compliance etc. Assisting line management to identify, assess and report possible fire risks within processes through application of risk management tools (e.g., fire detection systems, checklists, process flow hot-spots, inspections, interviews, observations, analysis of operational temperature data). Developing and implementing area specific annual fire training plan in liaison with Line management to raise awareness level. Implementing engagement plans for all internal and external stakeholders. Providing technical guidance on fire and emergency issues to management and other stakeholders (contractors/project). Conducting basic fire awareness training to Khoemacau Mine employees, stakeholders and the community in order to build capacity and/or raise awareness. Coordinating weekly Emergency Responders Drills and capacitate fire team members in the Mine. Requirements Diploma or Degree in Fire Safety Management or equivalent Minimum of 3 years post qualification with practical experience on fire monitoring, fire needs surveys, fire risk assessments, etc. in mining or any heavy industrial environment Registered with any recognised fire professional body Knowledge of modern firefighting and fire prevention principles A valid class B driver's license and good driving record is a must for all positions.
