Serowe District Council. INTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT. VACANCY CIRCULAR NO.12 OF 2026. VACANCY: ABATTOIR ATTENDANT. Applications are invited from suitably qualified Serowe District Council Employees ONLY for the above post tenable in Serowe District Council. Main Purpose of the Job: To dress and clean carcasses at the Council Abattoir. Key Responsibilities Identifies animals with abattoir brands for different owners before driving them into the stunning pen. Hoists to allow bleeding and washes the carcass. Dresses the carcass professionally to avoid doing harm or damage to the hide. Removes internal organs avoiding all possible contamination to the carcass. Cleans the carcass and internal organs of different animals. Labels the dressed carcass to avoid mix up by endorsing numbers. Weighs the dressed carcass and keeps safe the weight records. Loads carcasses and internal organs into vehicles. Loads and offloads condemned carcasses for disposal at the Landfill at the designated areas. Cleans and disinfects the abattoir slaughter floor throughout the slaughtering process after finishing a day's slaughter. Undertakes any other related duties as directed by management. Requirements Minimum of PSLE certificate. At least two (2) years on any position of A1 salary scale.
