Software Engineer (Full Stack)
Description
Software Engineer (Full Stack) — Enterprise AI Platform
Freelance (Part-time) · Early-career / Graduate-friendly · Copenhagen area (Hybrid)
About Velocity Insights
Velocity Insights is building a new category of enterprise software: Strategic Deliverable Automation.
Enterprises spend enormous amounts of time producing analysis-heavy, slide-based materials that drive strategic decisions — planning cycles, reviews, investment cases, and executive recommendations. This work is critical, recurring, and still largely manual.
Velocity is a production platform that transforms raw inputs — notes, documents, and data — into consulting-grade, decision-ready strategic deliverables with speed, consistency, and rigor. The platform is already used by paying enterprise customers in life sciences and private equity and is growing rapidly.
We are now expanding the core product into a full enterprise platform and are looking for an early-career full stack software engineer to help build it.
The Role
We are looking for a junior / early-career Full Stack Software Engineer who can work across backend and frontend to help develop the Velocity platform end to end.
This role is offered as a part-time freelance engagement from the start. You’ll work closely with our CTO and take ownership of features from concept to production — spanning backend logic, APIs, and user-facing interfaces.
For high performers, there is a clear opportunity over time to transition into a full-time role and fixed employment, but all candidates start in a part-time freelance capacity.
Reporting to: CTO
What You’ll Work On
Your work will span the full product stack, including:
- Building and maintaining backend services and workflows (primarily Python-based) that transform raw inputs into structured, executive-ready outputs
- Developing user-facing features and interfaces that make complex workflows intuitive, reliable, and efficient
- Implementing APIs and data flows between frontend, backend, and supporting services
- Translating product and methodology ideas into concrete software functionality
- Improving reliability, performance, and overall product quality across the stack
- Helping evolve Velocity from a powerful capability into a scalable enterprise platform
This is production engineering across the stack — not experimental scripting or isolated frontend work.
Who This Role Is For
This role is intentionally designed for early-career candidates, including:
We value structured thinking, ownership, and learning ability over years of experience or familiarity with a specific framework.
Required Qualifications
- Strong fundamentals in software development and problem-solving
- Experience working with Python and/or modern web technologies
- Ability to work across both backend and frontend, or strong motivation to grow into a full stack role
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of features
- Interest in building real-world products used by enterprise customers
- Comfort collaborating with non-technical colleagues and translating ideas into working software
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Experience with frontend frameworks (e.g. React, Vue, or similar)
- Experience with APIs, backend systems, or data pipelines
- Familiarity with cloud environments or production deployments
- Exposure to analytics, automation, or AI-enabled workflows
- Personal projects, coursework, or internships involving full stack development
What You’ll Get in This Role
- Direct collaboration with the CTO on core product and platform development
- Real end-to-end ownership across backend, frontend, and product logic
- Your work ships into a product used in real enterprise decision workflows
- High learning rate across product thinking, architecture, and applied AI systems
