The PhD project will focus on evolutionary analysis of large scale genomic and metagenomic data sets using the latest computational tools.
We wish to gain a better understanding of the emergence of microbial novelty at multiple molecular scales making extensive usage of variational autoencoders and other techniques in AI, including advances in genetic and protein evolutionary modelling.
