Embryologist / research position oder nach Vereinbarung vorerst auf 1 Jahr, Option auf Verlängerung What you will be doing Perform all assisted reproductive technologies (ART) in the IVF laboratory, including follicular puncture, denudation, ICSI, IVF, embryo culture, embryo transfer, vitrification, social freezing, and preimplantation genetic testing (trophectoderm biopsy) Conduct analyses, sample preparation, and quality control in the andrology laboratory Ensure high standards of quality, hygiene, and safety throughout all laboratory processes Operate, clean, maintain and calibrate complex laboratory equipment, ensuring their proper functionality Communicate with patients and medical professionals, including reporting results and interdisciplinary information exchange Handle organizational tasks such as sample reception, service documentation, inventory management, and equipment checkups Contribute to scientific projects, validations, and the continuous improvement of the quality management system Your profile Master of Science in Biology, Biomedicine, or Biochemistry Experience or strong interest in reproductive biology, cell culture techniques, or IVF-specific methods Precise, responsible, and structured approach to working in a highly regulated laboratory environment, with a strong focus on quality Good verbal and written German skills; English skills are an advantage Solution-oriented, reliable, and flexible personality with a high level of service orientation Willingness to work weekends (once per month) Your benefits at the USB Attractive salary policy and exceptional social benefits Discounts for shopping, sport and recreation Support during relocation and apartment hunting 25 vacation days, plus 5 flexible free days Support in further training and education, plus career planning Campus in the heart of Basel and the tri-border region Comprehensive childcare options Free-of-charge sport and fitness program Diverse and varied role in an academic environment Exciting opportunities for professional development and further training A combined position consisting of 30–40% work as an Embryologist and 50% as a Researcher (total employment level: 80–90%) We look forward to receiving your application Viola Svec-Valasek HR Beraterin About the USB There are many reasons to come work for us: Working at the USB primarily means being part of a dedicated team of over 7500 employees from around 90 nations.
