We are currently supporting a leading Swiss private banking institution in the search for an experienced Application Support Engineer to join their Securities Finance technology team in Zurich.
Job description:
We are looking for a hands-on professional with strong technical capabilities and a solid understanding of financial systems:
5+ years of experience in application or production support within a banking or trading environment
Strong knowledge of Securities Finance, Securities Lending or Collateral Management
Experience with FIS SFTC (APEX / FINACE) is highly desirable
Technical skills in SQL and Unix/Linux (scripting is an advantage)
Exposure to DevOps concepts, CI/CD, or general system troubleshooting
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
Fluent in English
About the customer:
This role sits in a front-office-facing environment and focuses on the support, stability, and continuous improvement of a Securities Lending & Borrowing platform (FIS SFTC).
In this position, you will take ownership of application support activities and ensure smooth operations of a business-critical trading system:
Provide 1st and 2nd level support for front office users (traders)
Ensure system stability and availability (incident management, run-the-bank activities)
Analyze and resolve production-related issues in a structured and timely manner
Act as a key interface between business, IT teams, and external vendors
Support release cycles and contribute to ongoing system improvements
Identify optimization potential and enhance processes where needed
Work in an agile environment, contributing to regular ceremonies and planning
