Network Engineer

The company is an innovative game development studio at the forefront of 3D mobile game creation. Currently in the early stages of development, we are committed to deg immersive, well-crafted gaming experiences powered by our proprietary game engine. Our team is international, consisting of developers, game designers, and 3D artists from Ukraine, Austria, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic, among other countries.
We’re looking for aMid-level Network Engineerto take ownership of our current in-datacenter private network and help us expand the networking stack over time. This role mixeshands-on network operations todaywithmore advanced routing / DDoS / traffic analysis work in the futureas we grow.
Manage a small in-datacenter private networkconsisting of2 racks.
Set up VM-based configurationsfor testing purposes, including:
Test various CDNs(content delivery networks), including creating/maintaining setups needed for consistent testing.
You’ll help set up new networks as the company scales, covering a wide spectrum of networking tasks, including:
Performingproduction tcpdump analysis(real traffic troubleshooting and deep dives).
Experimenting withBGP-based DDoS protection, which includes:
Peer routing analysis, and related routing/traffic engineering work (“and so on” as the networking footprint expands).
Strong knowledge and practical experience withL2/L3 networking.
Hands-on experience withmanaged switchesandrouters, including:
Hands-on experience withfirewallsand understanding of firewall best practices, including at least one of:
Solid understanding offirewall best practices(secure configuration, least privilege, safe exposure, etc.).
Experience with / understanding ofWiresharkand/ortcpdump.
