Narrative Designer

Welcome to Octo Games— a game development studio from the Netherlands specializing in adult games developed with Unity and Unreal Engine. We are looking for a talented and creativeNarrative Designerwho will be responsible for creating engaging game narratives for our adult visual novels. Your main role will be crafting compelling content and building new game worlds.

Content note:our projects include18+ themes. Comfort with this content is required.

You’ll craft compelling narrative experiences for adult visual novels: worlds, characters, branching stories, choices with consequences, and engine-ready scripts that integrate cleanly with gameplay and UI.

Build thenarrative foundation: setting, themes, tone, character bios/arcs.

Designbranching structures, write dialogues, choices, barks, quest/UX copy.

Implementinteractive logic(variables/flags, checks, endings) and keep continuity.

Prepareengine-ready scripts(Naninovel) with clean markup & IDs.

Collaborate with GD/UI/Art/Dev to align story, pacing, and presentation.

Ability to writeconcise, clear, character-truedialogue and scene directions.

Comfortable working with18+ contentand respective content guidelines.

Knowledge of story structure techniques and character motivation, understanding of theHero’s Journeyconcept;

Ability to write concisely and clearly while maintaining depth and meaning;

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to express ideas clearly;

Ability to use modern AI technologies in the workflow.

Articy Draft / Twine / Miro/Figmafor flows; Notion/Sheets for structure & variables.

Thoughtful use ofAI tools(ChatGPT etc.) for ideation/editing with clear authorship and compliance.

Passion for your craft and a desire for continuous growth, with a willingness to learn independently;
