Lead 2D Game Artist / Generalist

We are a fully funded, growing three-person indie studio actively developing a new digital strategy card game. With a secured budget and a clear production roadmap, we offer the stability of a professional project combined with the creative freedom of indie development. We are looking for a versatile 2D Art Generalist to join our core team as our Lead Artist, taking full ownership of the game's visual identity from concept to release.
We are looking for a Game Artist Generalist who can become the main artist on the project.This role includes both creating original artwork from scratch and reworking AI assisted visuals into production ready, cohesive final game assets.
This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working across multiple areas of game art, not only creating individual illustrations, but also improving UI, helping establish style consistency, and taking ownership of the overall visual direction.
You will work closely with the founder and have meaningful influence over the final look of the game.
Create original artwork from scratch for cards and other game visuals
Improve, refine, repaint, and overpaint AI assisted visuals into cohesive final assets
Help create comic style cutscenes, including illustrated panels, sequences, paintovers, and visual storytelling support
Create and improve card art and card related visuals
Improve and polish UI screens and in game presentation
Help define, refine, and maintain the game’s art style
Prepare paintovers, mockups, visual explorations, and production friendly art tasks
Give feedback on existing visuals and propose improvements
Help keep the project visually cohesive as it grows
Experience in game art, ideally on shipped or serious in development projects
Strong sense of style consistency, readability, composition, and polish
Comfortable working in a small team where each person has real responsibility
We are open to artists who are comfortable using AI assisted workflows where they genuinely improve speed or exploration, for example during ideation, variations, paintovers, or production support.
What matters most to us is the final quality, consistency, originality of the final output, and commercial usability of the work.
