Description

• Sculpt, model, texture, and polish quality 3D characters that align with the game’s art direction and brand identity.

• Optimize character assets for mobile performance, including topology, textures, and LODs for different devices and screen sizes.

• Collaborate closely with rigging artists and animators to ensure characters are  optimized and ready for rigging and animation.

• Stay up to date with industry trends in character art across mobile and other platforms, pushing for innovation and quality.

5+ years of experience as a 3D Character Artist or similar role in mobile and/or AAA game development (casual games experience is a strong plus).

• Strong portfolio showcasing quality 3D characters, from concept through to ingame implementation.

• Expertise in industry-standard tools such as Blender, Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter/Designer, and Unity.

• Solid understanding of topology, UV mapping, texturing, and material creation for real-time applications.

• Experience in preparing assets for rigging and animation, with knowledge of deformation-friendly modeling practices.

• Strong grasp of human and animal anatomy, proportions, and stylization, with the ability to create expressive and appealing characters.

• Ability to replicate established styles or IPs and adapt them to new formats while maintaining consistency.

• Familiarity with Unity or similar engines and awareness of technical constraints for real-time assets.

• Experience or interest in using AI tools to support creative workflows.

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills; comfortable working in a fast-paced, small team environment.
