Position Overview

We are seeking a Federal Business Development Manager to join their expanding team. This is a newly created, sales-focused role designed to drive growth through new federal business opportunities.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in federal IT sales and business development, with experience in cybersecurity or related technology solutions. This individual will play a key role in expanding our footprint beyond its established presence and into additional federal agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and capture new federal IT business opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with federal agency stakeholders, buyers, and influencers
  • Drive early engagement activities, including securing pre-RFP meetings and shaping acquisition strategies
  • Support and influence contract pursuits, including prime awards, task orders, and contract vehicle access
  • Collaborate internally to align sales strategies with the companies technical capabilities and offerings

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in federal business development, capture management, or federal IT sales within a government contractor
  • Demonstrated, current relationships with federal IT decision-makers and influencers

Proven track record of:

  • Securing and leading pre-RFP engagements with program and acquisition stakeholders
  • Influencing acquisition strategies and contract pathways
  • Contributing to or leading successful federal contract wins (e.g., prime awards, major task orders, or contract vehicle on-ramps)
  • Strong understanding of federal acquisition processes and vehicles
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
