This role ensures that all performers are ready for each show with costumes that meet quality standards, while also overseeing a team dedicated to the upkeep and organization of wardrobe equipment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ACTIVITIES · Manage the wardrobe crew, delegating tasks effectively to ensure smooth operations. · Oversee the fitting, alteration, and maintenance of costumes to ensure they are performance-ready. · Maintain an organized inventory of costumes, accessories, and wardrobe supplies. · Collaborate with designers and directors to implement costume changes according to production needs. · Facilitate an efficient laundry schedule for cleaning and caring for costumes. · Ensure all wardrobe items are stored properly and safely. · Conduct regular audits of costume inventory and provide reports to the Production Manager. · Assist performers with dressing and ensure quick costume changes during live shows. · Develop and implement best practices for garment care and maintenance. · Train new wardrobe staff and crew on dress and wardrobe management processes. Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS · At least 3 years of experience in costume management or wardrobe supervision, ideally in live performance settings. · Familiarity with sewing and garment care, including knowledge of different fabrics and their maintenance. · Experience in managing a team of wardrobe staff. · Strong background in theatrical or performance productions preferred. Skills · Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently. · Attention to Detail: Strong eye for detail to ensure costumes are properly maintained and presented. · Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to work with diverse team members and performers. · Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to address last-minute costume issues quickly and effectively. · Technical Skills: Proficiency in sewing, garment construction, and care techniques.
