Job description / Role Job Type Full Time Job Location Oman Nationality Any Nationality Salary Not Specified Gender Not Specified Arabic Fluency Not Specified Job Function Engineering - Mechanical & Aeronautical Company Industry Retail Overview of the role: An HVAC estimation and costing engineer analyses the scope of a proposed heating, ventilation, and air conditioning project to create a detailed design, equipment selection, and estimation of the project’s cost. What you will do: Description of accountability: An HVAC application engineer needs to have an understanding and/or experience of HVAC systems and services. Experience of HVAC software selection tools and heat load calculation software is essential, while skills in AutoCAD, Excel, and PowerPoint are also necessary. Study tender documents as well as pre-bid points to work out the scope of work for tender jobs for HVAC projects including preparation of tender appreciation notes. Develop and maintain strong technical and applications expertise with all OMASCO’s air conditioning products involving chillers, AHUs, FCUs, package units, DX central split units, and VRF systems. Prepare heat load calculation, quotations, and respond to technical inquiries in a timely manner in response to external sales requests and support the external sales team in these efforts. Send inquiries to vendors and take quotations from vendors for major HVAC items and prepare cost comparison sheets for quotations received from vendors. Prepare detailed BOQ as per tender specifications and comparative statements and review tender versus actual quantities along with quantity estimation for major project quantities. Study the scope of work and technical specifications and conditions of the contract. Able to read and comprehend an engineering specification/drawing and suggest the appropriate products to quote and submit, including pointing out exceptions to the specification. Self-motivated to support customers by maintaining constant communication with customers, project execution teams, manufacturers, and service teams.
