Technical Project Manager

Description

Must Have Speak English (C Level or Better) 2-4 years of experience in technical project management, QA engineering, SDET, or a junior developer role Ability to read and navigate a React/Next.js/TypeScript codebase (you will not write production features, but you must understand what the code is doing) SQL proficiency with PostgreSQL for data investigation, fixes, and migrations Experience with Git, GitHub PR workflows, and CI/CD pipelines Experience with project management tools (Shortcut, Jira, Linear, or similar) Strong written English for specs, summaries, and daily communication with English-speaking stakeholders Proven ability to transform ambiguous business requirements into clear, developer-ready specs with complete acceptance criteria More Requirements Requirements & Business Logic: Ensure every user story is fully specified before development starts. Review for completeness, read existing code to understand behavior, write clear acceptance criteria, and translate between business needs and technical specs. Make escalation decisions when CEO or senior engineer input is needed. Sprint & Delivery: Monitor daily PR status, manage the Shortcut board, allocate work by team strengths, lead weekly status meetings, and prepare production push summaries. QA & Environment Support: Prepare test environments, coordinate regression testing, run SQL queries for data fixes, and support tenant migrations. Developer Support: 1:1 to keep the team moving. Infrastructure & Process: Monitor environments, maintain CI/CD automations, propose workflow improvements, maintain onboarding docs, and handle third-party issues. Nice to Have Experience with Prisma ORM or similar Familiarity with Vercel deployment workflows Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor) Background in fintech, CRM, or advisor-facing software Experience coordinating a small remote engineering team across multiple time zones What Success Looks Like First 30 Days You are paired with our senior developer, absorbing the operational workflows he's built. You learn the codebase, understand how business logic flows through the system, and get context on active workspaces and epics. You take over the Shortcut dashboard and daily PR reviews. By 60 Days You are independently reviewing user stories for business logic completeness, writing acceptance criteria, and managing the weekly production push. Developers come to you first for requirements and process questions. By 90 Days You own the full operational rhythm of the engineering team. Our senior developer is spending 80%+ of his time building product instead of managing process. Developer velocity has improved because specs are clearer and blockers get resolved faster. You're running autonomously. The Role This role is a force multiplier. You make every developer on the team faster, clearer, and more focused. You are: Autonomous. You see what needs to happen and you do it. Organized. You track dozens of moving pieces -- stories, PRs, environments, releases -- and nothing falls through the cracks. People-smart. Developers are all different. You know how to work with each one, adapt to their communication style, and keep them unblocked without micromanaging. Analytically minded. You track velocity and output not to play gotcha, but to spot problems early -- is someone stuck? Blocked? Unclear on requirements? You find out and fix it. Supportive. You get satisfaction from making the team better, not from being the star. Your win is when the developers ship great work because you set them up to succeed. Our dev team speaks Spanish, but you'll need conversational English for stakeholder communication. You'll bridge the business side (CEO, QA, stakeholders) and the dev team, owning two things: ensuring business logic is crystal clear before developers touch it, and keeping engineering running smoothly. You need to read code, trace logic through a modern web app, and speak both business and technical fluently. Your job is to take operations and requirements off our Tech Lead's plate so he can focus on building. Waystone Software (A US based Company) is building the future of CRM, marketing, and practice management automation for financial advisors. Our products, Altitude ( www.gainaltitude.ai ) and Pathfinder, are built to simplify complex client management, drive growth, and make every process smarter through automation and AI. ⚠️ This is a fast-paced startup. We move quick, work hard, and ship frequently. You'll be joining a small, senior team shipping weekly, tackling real problems, and building tools our users rely on every day. If you're hungry, want to learn and grow, to lead by doing -- and want your work to matter -- you'll thrive here. This is a remote, contract position. Stack: Node/TypeScript, PostgreSQL/Prisma, AWS, React/Next.js on the front end. Ownership over what you build Small, senior team focused on speed and quality Modern tech stack — minimal techni
