Technical Lead / Back-end Engineer

Proven senior backend development experience with Laravel/PHP and SQL databases. Strong database design and optimization skills, including indexing, query tuning, and data integrity. Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs; familiarity with API versioning and security best practices. Solid understanding of system architecture, scalability, and performance engineering. Leadership experience in small engineering teams; ability to mentor and review code constructively. Lead and mentor a two-person backend team, setting technical direction and best practices. Collaborate with product and frontend teams to translate requirements into scalable backend solutions. Design and optimize data models, database schemas, indexing strategies, and data migrations. Develop robust APIs, integrate external services, and implement automation workflows (CRON jobs, scheduled tasks). Review code, enforce quality standards, and drive performance improvements across the platform. Shape the system architecture to support growth, reliability, and maintainability of UpSys. Participate in planning, estimation, and release processes, ensuring timely delivery and risk management. We are seeking a Technical Lead / Backend Engineer to supervise two developers and help enhance system architecture, databases, APIs, and automations. You will contribute to data structure improvements, backend processes (CRON jobs, integrations), code reviews, and scalable technical growth.
