Senior Back-end Engineer (Python / DevOps)

We are looking for a senior backend engineer with 5+ years of Python experience and a strong background in building API services and data-intensive systems. You should be proficient with FastAPI or similar async frameworks, design RESTful APIs following best practices, and have hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines. You will work on scalable data pipelines, large datasets, and AI-enabled enhancements, contributing to a modern, AI-native engineering culture. Collaboration across engineering, product, and data teams is essential, as is a proactive approach to performance, reliability, and documentation. Familiarity with analytics databases (ClickHouse, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and data orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect) is highly desirable. Develop and maintain data ingestion and processing pipelines that power analytics across global brands. Build and maintain API services that drive the Krunchbox platform. Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability. Implement and maintain cloud infrastructure and DevOps pipelines. Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to deliver new capabilities. Participate in architecture and platform design decisions. Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code. Contribute to engineering best practices and documentation. Krunchbox is a retail analytics platform used by global consumer brands to transform point-of-sale data into actionable insights. Our platform ingests and processes large volumes of retail data from retailers across North America and Australia, helping brands understand sales performance, optimize inventory, and make smarter supply chain decisions. We are modernizing our platform architecture and rebuilding core components with a focus on scalability, performance, and AI-driven insights. The Senior Backend Engineer will help design and build the next generation of our data platform, collaborating with engineering, product, and data teams to deliver scalable backend services, data ingestion pipelines, and robust cloud infrastructure.
