Engineering Lead

What you’ll bring Proven experience in a senior or lead engineering role, ideally within SaaS or data/information platforms. Strong hands-on development skills in JavaScript, Node.js, and PostgreSQL with a track record of scalable system design. Solid understanding of DevOps, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and security best practices. Experience with data architecture, including data warehousing and transformation pipelines. Experience integrating third-party platforms (e.g., Appian) and working with internal data pipelines. Familiarity with web scraping technologies, automation, and management of external vendors. Exposure to or interest in AI-driven solutions (e.g., agent-based AI) is a strong plus. Fluent English is required; Spanish and/or Portuguese are a strong plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Lead by example as a senior developer: design, implement, and review high-performance, maintainable code following clean code principles, testing, CI, and agile practices. Shape and evolve system architecture with emphasis on scalability, modularity, security, and reliability; drive architectural decisions and technical direction. Drive integration initiatives, including seamless Appian integration with the platform and interconnectivity between internal systems and tools. Lead and mentor engineers, fostering accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance; remove blockers and optimize development workflows. Oversee infrastructure planning and operations to ensure high availability, cost-efficiency, and robust security. Guide data solutions, including data warehousing, transformations, and overall data architecture; oversee data acquisition, including web scraping strategies and automation. Manage relationships with external partners (e.g., scraping providers) to ensure quality and alignment with technical standards. Explore and help implement modern AI-driven solutions (e.g., agent-based AI) to enhance data workflows, automation, and product capabilities. Partner with senior stakeholders across product, content, and business teams to align engineering efforts with company priorities. Contribute to long-term technical direction and platform evolution to ensure scalability and sustainability. Evaluate emerging technologies and introduce tooling or architectural improvements where relevant; steer platform evolution into a scalable, modular, high-quality technical solution. Support the continued evolution of the platform to meet expanding geographic and sector coverage, ensuring robust data pipelines and a secure, resilient system.
