Senior Data Engineer

Senior Data Engineer Location: Stockholm, Sweden (Onsite/Hybrid)

We're hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join a distributed Data Platform team in a global gaming company. You'll build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data models, improve data quality, and support reliable analytics for game studios and teams like marketing, monetization, and finance. You'll also create Python tools and automations to boost pipeline reliability and internal workflows. Ideal candidates have strong SQL/Python skills, modern data stack experience, and a product mindset.

Responsibility:

• Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like dbt, Airflow, and Spark
• Develop reliable data models in warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift
• Monitor data quality, troubleshoot issues, and drive long-term improvements
• Partner with teams to understand data needs and deliver technical solutions
• Create Python tools and automations to improve analytics, pipeline reliability, and internal workflows
• Own Python problem-solving end to end, including complex engineering challenges beyond analytics

Requirements:

• 5+ years of data engineering experience
• Strong collaborator who builds relationships in international/multicultural teams
• Skilled in SQL and Python
• Solid engineering foundation, including Git version control
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Familiar with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
• Experience with data ops/orchestration tools (dbt, Airflow)
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, warehousing, and ETL design
• Can explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Product-minded: focused on the "why," not just the "how"
