JOB SUMMARY QualificationsHolder of a bachelor’s degree in lieu demonstrate experience in database administration and a professional qualification.An experience of 2 years working with PostgreSQLStrong PostgreSQL query writing, tuning skills, and shell scriptingHands-on knowledge of backup and recovery methods and toolsExperience with high availability and disaster recovery including data replicationSolid understanding of Linux and Windows Server environments.Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Kubernetes for DB deployment/management. RESPONSIBILITIES Database Support & OperationsProvide 24/7 support to ensure high availability, integrity, security, and performance of Smart’s databases.Assist with database maintenance, installations, configurations, upgrades, and patch management for Oracle, MSSQL, and MySQL environments.Perform daily backups, verify data integrity, and support restore processes.Monitoring & TroubleshootingMonitor database logs, performance, and abnormal activities, escalating issues as necessary.Provide first-level troubleshooting for database incidents and support customer service inquiries under defined SLAs.Documentation & ReportingMaintain accurate documentation of procedures, configurations, backup schedules, and incident resolutions.Generate regular database performance reports and ensure compliance with database standards.Collaboration & Continuous ImprovementWork closely with senior DBAs, internal teams, and other departments to support business systems.Stay updated on Smart solutions, current database trends, and attend training to enhance skills.
