Google Cloud Engineer

SC Cleared Google Cloud Engineer 6 Month Contract | Inside IR35 | £550-£700/day | Remote (Occasional London/Bristol) We're supporting a leading digital transformation consultancy delivering secure, cloud-native platforms into government and regulated environments. They are looking for an experienced SC Cleared GCP Engineer with strong GKE expertise to join a high-performing engineering team. Key Requirements: Active SC Clearance (essential) Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Deep expertise in GKE/Kubernetes in production environments Proven background delivering secure, scalable, cloud-native solutions Experience working in government or highly regulated environments Strong skills in Terraform/Infrastructure as Code Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.) Good understanding of cloud security, IAM, networking, and Zero-Trust principles Key Responsibilities: Design, build and optimise GCP-based platforms, with a focus on GKE Deploy and manage containerised applications in secure, multi-environment setups Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) for repeatable, scalable deployments Embed security best practices and compliance controls across the platform Support CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps processes Collaborate with engineering, platform, and security teams in agile delivery environments Nice to Have: Experience with multi-cloud (AWS/Azure) environments Exposure to service mesh/CNI (eg Cilium) Knowledge of monitoring & observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) Experience with identity & secrets management (Keycloak, Vault) This is a great opportunity to work on high-impact, mission-critical programmes delivering secure cloud solutions at scale.
