WinForms LaTeX UI Repair
Description
Budget: $30 - $250
The desktop LaTeX editor I built in C# WinForms relies on a set of custom-drawn controls. The core functionality is in place, but user-facing glitches are blocking release:
• Custom toolbar buttons refuse to fire their events, leaving key actions unreachable. • Text inside the editor pane will not stay centred, overlaps neighbouring lines, and ignores the intended font size. • When the main window is resized, several panels and controls lose their layout constraints and stretch or clip unpredictably.
All code is in a single Visual Studio solution (.NET Framework), with logic separated cleanly from the UI layer generated by an AI assistant. I need clean, human-written fixes that respect the existing architecture, preferably without introducing heavy third-party dependencies.
Deliverables
- Working toolbar buttons with proper event handlers and visual feedback.
- Consistent text layout: centred alignment, no overlap, correct font scaling.
- Responsive window behaviour: every control anchors or docks correctly across typical screen resolutions.
- Brief summary of changes and the key files touched so I can learn from the adjustments.
You should be comfortable with C#, WinForms layout rules (Anchor, Dock, TableLayout, custom painting), and debugging designer-generated code. If you can walk me through the fixes during a short hand-off call, that’s a bonus, but code comments and a concise README are sufficient.
I’ll zip the entire solution once we agree to proceed; you return updated source and a compiled.exe for quick smoke testing.
